Best 3-season hiking and backpacking boots ever owned. - Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Shoes Medium Width - Men's

I've been hiking for more than 50 years and have gone through a lot of boots and these are the best all-around boots I've ever had. This is the third pair of Renegades I've owned. They are lightweight, water repellent, sturdy and comfortable. The soles grip well and wear well and are stiff enough to walk on sharp rocks all day without feeling them too much and you can kick steps in hard, icy snow with no problem. I like to swap out the insoles and replace them with the green Super Feet insoles. They give more support and just make the boot fit better, no slipping. They have been very durable with no separations. . I have not had any blisters or problems except with my first pair but only because they were a bit too tight. The sizes appear to run smaller than true size so I suggest getting a half or full size larger than your shoe size. My shoe size is 11.5 and I now have 13s and they are perfect. Break in period is very short. The tops of the boots tend to funnel trail debris in if you are hiking in scree or wet forest with leaves or mud. It sticks to your feet and then falls into your boots as you walk because the tops don't have a scree collar. I suggest wearing lightweight, breathable gaiters.
