Sturdy lightweight hiking boots - Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Shoes Medium Width - Men's

My second pair of Lowa Renegade GTX boots. My first pair lasted through 2 yrs of 4-season hiking in the North Cascades. Comfortable and lightweight with excellent grip and foot protection. Good in mud, snow and rooty & rocky terrain. I use Nikwax Nubuck & Suede to restore waterproofing as the nubuck pores open up after hiking in water and snow. Works well with snowshoes and microspikes, but the sole is too flexible and curved for mountaineering crampons. Eventually the toe rubber separated and now allows water to enter the footbed. They took a beating before that happened.
