Good got great - Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Shoes Medium Width - Men's

I have worn nothing but Lowa Renegade GTX for the past 10 years. I hike a lot and I wore these boots on a Mt Whitney dayhike. I love the fit and the feel of these boots. I have always had 2 concerns:
1) the top eyelets have always been tight and I have to use a screwdriver to open them up so the laces would get in. Lowa has fixed that little nuance by widing that gap so you can lace up properly.
2) The soles just weren't the best and tended to wear more easily than I would have wished. Now Lowa puts a Vibram sole on the boot and I couldn't be happier.
These are just great boots and Lowa is obviously committed to continuous improvement.
