Well built boot - Lowa Z-8S GTX Hiking Boots - Men's

This is a very durable boot for the weight. The boot has a stiffer sole which is great for carrying heavy 45lbs+ loads over sharp rocks. There is little to no break-in period needed. The Z-8S runs about a half size larger than my Lowa Zephyr boots. You may want to try a pair on before ordering. One thing to note, those of us with flat feet will need a good arch support insole with these boots. Due to the rigidity of the sole, the curve that would normally nestle comfortably in the arch of a normal foot causes a pressure point on the inside of a flat foot. Over all a great waterproof boot that will hold up to a lot of abuse without weighing you down.
