WRKnute64's Review of Aire Tomcat Tandem Inflatable Kayak
Outstanding product and materials. I have been using/bar rowing one from a group I am affiliated with that works to help Veterans heal through paddle sports-Team a River Runner(TRR) I did six multi day trips this summer on the Owyhee, Salmon, Colorado, Payette etc.... I used an Aire Trubutary Tom Cat on all the floats through some Class 3 plus and 4s. Tough, rugged, well made, maneuverable and roomy. On the multi day trips I was able to haul most of my own gear and on one 3 day trip I was able to take my service dog(English lab) in a tandem-there was room for her and most of my stuff. Only draw back that I see is there are no paddles or pump. The seats it comes with are functional, but I was able to use two different upgraded seats through TRR, preferred them much more. Plan on using the baffle type seats for stabilization for my feet in conjunction with thigh straps. Other than it missing the paddles/pump, excellent product. Have a friend who has owened two different ones and they have both lasted 20 years and 8 years with no issues.
Pros:
Roomy
Tough
Great stability
rugged
Cons:
no adjustable leg loops
no paddles
no pump
Best Used for:
Up to class 3 plus
Would Recommend:
Yes
