DM's Review of Mad Rock Drone LV Mens Climbing Shoes

I bought these shoes about 7 months ago and I have used them mostly for bouldering since then. I have very narrow feet and have trouble finding climbing shoes that are narrow enough for my feet. Many shoes billed as being narrow or low volume actually only have a narrow/low volume heel, but the toe box is still too wide. Not these. They have a very low-volume toe box as well. I think these may be the narrowest climbing shoes on the market. They are at least the narrowest shows that I have tried. I LOVE them!!! They fit my skinny foot like a glove. They have amazingly sticky rubber and are fantastic for heel hooks/toe hooks. Also they are comfortable (or as comfortable as aggressive climbing shoes can be). I have been climbing for 14 years, so if you're new to the sport you and I may have a different idea of comfort. This is important to me because if my feet hurt, I am not having fun. I have many, many pairs of climbing shoes (including multiple pairs of La Sportiva's that everyone claims are so great), but I find that I always grab my Madrocks when I head out. They are stickier, fit better, are more comfortable, and they are much less expensive!! In fact, I don't know how some companies get away with charging so much when other's can produce such an excellent shoe and sell it for such a reasonable price. They also seem very durable. These are my go to shoe for bouldering and sport climbing. I would not use them for trad or cracks, but then they are not made for that. I highly recommend them for anyone with narrow/low volume feet. (If you have normal volume feet try the Drone HV. If you have wide feet try the Shark.) Please Madrock, don't every change or discontinue this shoe!!!!!

For sizing reference, I bought a size 7.5 (US)/40 EUR. This is supposedly mens sizing, but I will tell you that I wear a 7.5 - 8 women's in street shoes. In La Sportiva's I wear a 38.5 - 39. In Scarpa's I wear a 39 - 39.5.
