Responsive and cushioned running shoe - Mammut MTR 201-II Max Low Trail Running Shoe - Women's

I know Mammut isn’t a running shoe company, but these are a runner’s running shoes. I’ve never said this about a pair of shoes before, but they are pure fun to run in. I think it’s the rocker that makes them so fun. It actually rolls you forward onto the ball of your foot and propels you forward. I love running in them on pavement and on trails. They’ve got great cushion, but they don’t feel as soft and sinky as Hokas do (like your foot is sinking into a deep mattress). They manage to be both cushioned and responsive / springy at the same time. The tongue is a bit stiff and chaffed my ankle at first, but it softened up after a few runs and hasn’t bothered me since.
