Marmot gem - Marmot Avant Featherless Hoody - Men's

This is a great synthetic down jacket that is very warm but also breathable. Initially I was hesitant about the smaller baffles but after wearing it I realized the construction allows for them to stack tightly, thereby reducing cold spots and allowing for greater movement. The material is very lightweight, strong, and high quality. I was able to pack the jacket (L) down to a 6X8 shape so it compresses small, but not quite as much as a down equivalent. At the price, that difference is not enough to opt for the down unless the jacket was for a through hike or some other activity where you're weighing your gear by the gram. I would have given it 5 stars, but I didn't like how form fitting it was. It fits like a very technical jacket to allow for a pack, so it shouldn't be seen as a detractor as much as it is preference. Jacket seals out all drafts. Great jacket, great price, get it.
