This coat is very warm. I recommend wearing it only if the temperature is below 40F (4.4C). The coat is great in dry weather and light rain, but I can tell that if I were in heavy rain I would be wishing for a waterproof shell to wear over this. I am very pleased with how warm it is in cold weather and will be getting a light shell to protect it while out in the back country. The size is as expected.
