Manny M.'s Review of Marmot Pingora Pant - Mens

These pants are lightweight with thin yet heavy duty materials in some key high wear areas. These pants also offer a light duty water repellency which is adecuate for mild to medium wetness protection. In my view, some pros about these pants is their lightweight fabrics, their lightweight yet tough reinforced materials around the seat area, the knees and inner boot scuff area. I also like the mesh pockets, the assortment of pockets, the fact that all pockets can be zipped closed for security and the light water repellency they exhibit. Also like the belt loops die added stability and possible gear adaptation. I have not yet put these pants through tougher testing or through the test of time but I do believe the non reinforced materials will not handle some of the tougher challenges I sometimes go through on some of my adventures. I do not believe the zippers will handle heavy demands. The cargo pocket is just right beside the knee where any solid items inside the pocket will cause pain, discomfort, friction and abrasion. The waist is not as adjustable as I wish it was and not 100% stable without the use of a belt. Threading water, swimming or walking against a current with these pants makes for arduous work, but it is nice that they have zippered pant legs for application or removal with boots on. These are good lighweight pants for generally light hiking, climbing or exploring. Definitely do not recommend for water crossing or treking. They do not seem to have rip stopping materials so eventually they're likely to succumb to the same fate as most of my general or light duty adventure apparell.
