I own two of these, the 2012 version ( quite a bit lighter) and the 2013 version. Both are great performing for light rain, heavy wind, and the occasional elements, ie ultralight backpacking. If you are heading into a region of heavy weather, or are planning a trip with bad news forecasted this will not keep you dry, Trust me I know. I give it an hour in the rain before it starts to bleed through. Guess its the price for the weight but this is not a truly water-proof gore-tex type rain jacket. I also agree with trevor on the fit. I'm 140 and 5'5" and purchased a small. It fits on its own but needed a 2nd medium for it to cover a fleece or down layer.
