Giving the new montrail a chance - Montrail Caldorado Trail Running Shoe - Men's

I've run in the Mountain Masochists in the past and like them. They're a running and hiking shoe hybrid. I wanted to try these as a more runner friendly yet still beefy trail running shoe. I like them. The 8mm heel drop is a nice compromise and the shoe is more responsive than the stiff Masochist (it's still a fairly rigid shoe compared to the likes of the Brooks Pure Grit, Altra Superior or other more minimal trail shoes). Overall I'm pleased with the shoe as a compromise between the minimal and the overly structured trail shoes out there today.
