VH1's Review of Mountain Equipment Arete Hooded Jacket - Women's
I've been replacing my jackets this season and wanted to add a non-black jacket. This jacket color (Sangria) is different in person than the picture (shiny/glossy, bright red). It's actually not shiny/glossy and the color is not so red. I was happy to see this and I like it a lot. The inside lining is a contrasting and softer version of the color, heading towards pink, but not pink (I'm not a pink person). The sides have a very nice diamond pattern, as opposed to the horizontal pattern on the front/back. It looks good and makes a better silhouette, more thinning. As far as the sizing, this is a UK brand, the 10 is a Small, a bit looser than a regular Small. I'm 5'3" 125 lbs.
In the end, I have decided not to keep this one and go for the Rab Microlight Alpine, it costs more but the difference is worth it for me. The Rab is more on par with Arcteryx and Marmot as far as quality, design features and functionality in the outdoors.
Happy shopping!
