That's what I want in my ice climbing down jacket.
The Kryos is as waterproof as it gets! Boasting an outer shell, this withstands super watery ice and full ice hoses!
The shell layer separating the outside world from the inside down also conveniently protects the down from flying away if you accidentally tear it. While approaching through tree branches and thorns last week, my partner and I both torn our puff jackets. While his looked like a goose massacre flying out of his arm, mine had a micro tear. His required climbing tape wrapped around the entire sleeve, while mine could be left alone until I purchased more tenacious tape.
The cut is athletic and square, so there is plenty of room for all the layers! It is not a fitted, town jacket. Perfect hood to fit over a helmet and face cover up to the nose. This is made for colder ice climbing weather!
