samasafish's Review of Mountain Equipment Randonee Glove - Men's
Returned these without climbing in them, I bought XL and I'm usually between L and XL. These were slightly too small in finger length but not unusable. Nice snug design and excellent finish (Mtn Equipment is always one of my favorites) but I returned because the palm side insulation was too thick to get good purchase on the ice tools. The pile material was in the way of a completely closed grip around the handle and when I tried to force the grip, the insulation between the fingers also created too much pressure. I could see these being best for cold weather mountaineering but they lack the comfort for vertical ice. Maybe the pile lining would pack out a bit and form to the hand after a few trips but I have learned not to chance it on high end gloves, they either fit or they dont. Someone with more space between each finger might have better luck.
Pros:
Finish
snug
dexterity
Cons:
lack of grip
pressure between fingers
Best Used for:
MOUNTAINEERING
