ScottG's Review of Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer 2 Hood Jacket - Men's

After a lot of research and debating between the Ark'teryx Cerium LT, North Face Summit L3 Down Hoodie, and the Ghost Whisper 2 I ultimatly went with the Ghost Whisper for its light weight and packability. Pros of the jacket
- Very warm: Worn with a long sleeve t shirt in the 20's and 30s and am perfectly compfortable even with a breeze and I usually run cold
- Extremely light: I barely notice its there while I wear it.
- Great fitting hood: I saw a lot of complaints about the hood not being adjustable. Its very elestic and stretches very easily to fit with a hat or just on your head. Along with the
hood the next area coverage is amazing. With the hoot up it fits compfortable around my chin and keeps my neck warm.
- Very packable: I was impressed with how easily it packed into either of the huge pockets. Barely took 30 seconds and at 8 ounces you could throw in just about anything
and not notice it
All that being said the jacket is not perfect. I wouln't call these cons, just differences depending on what youre looking for. First, it is not athletic fit. The chest and waist are the exact same giving it a more boxy feel. I'm 5'11, 168 with shoulders from wimming and usually have to get a large. I went with a medium and it fit perfectly. A little loose around the waist but nothing serious. Second the materieral is super soft, but definitely deliciate. I wouldn't go hiking anywhere with it it that it might snack on something without a shell. All in all its an incredible jacket and I would highly reccomend it!
