This product has a design defect that, IMO, is a dealbreaker. That defect is aggrevated as MH failed to disclose anything about this defect.
The problem is simply that the designed to to come with TWO fly zipper sliders that are oriented in the same direction. From what MH's warranty dept tells me, that is to accomadate a climbing harness under these pants.
All well and good for climbers (tho it seems to me these pants would last mere minutes in that application). But for the majority of buyers of these pants unaware of the design, it means that the FLY ZIPPER WILL NOT REMAIN CLOSED. Because the sliders are both oriented upward, the bottom slider opens the zipper a little bit; there is no way to avoid this. Then, a little bit of movement while wearing the pants will cause the zipper to pop open without the sliders moving. That will happen 100% of the time.
That is unacceptable.
MH has offered the solution of removing one slider, or reorienting the bottom slider, under warranty. Best case after having bought these, but a pain and added expense to the buyer. The fact is that the pants were designed for an obscure use, but the implications of that design then not disclosed to the many other buyers simply looking for insulated pants
