Peanut-B's Review of Mountain Hardwear HyperLamina Torch 0 Sleeping Bag (Synthetic)
So... I'm a cold sleeper... a very cold sleeper. Basically take the temp rating of a bag for women, add 10 degrees and that about sums it up. The mountains of the Northeast have seen some very cold nights this year so far and after lying awake freezing in 2 other bags 3 of the 5 nights I've been out so far, we discussed getting a new bag and given the awards bestowed upon the Spark, we decided this would be the bag.
Doesn't pack down/compress well but fits in a 60 without an issue, just takes up a bit of space, but it's worth it. As soon as you get into it, you feel instantly warm. It honestly feels like laying under/on your favorite down soft down comforter. The first weekend trying it out, it was 50, which usually for me means a 30 bag with base layer leggings and a fleece. Instead I was able to comfortably sleep in shorts and a tee with the fly pulled back to let the cool air in on a full mesh tent and had no issues at all. I was toasty, comfortably warm, with the sleeping bag unzipped. I got the best night sleep I've ever gotten at camp. The bag is just unbelievably comfortable. After my trip, I let my family, one by one, try out the bag, and they all said the same thing... as soon as you get in the bag, you can just feel the warmth.
I'd highly recommend this bag, especially if you're like me and cold all the time! (I only took away a star because of compressibility!)
