Torrque's Review of Mountain Hardwear Pathfinder 2 Tent
Prefer a more classy, muted, dark monchrome tent that doesn't scream bright unnatural color? Want to enjoy the stars at night but not the mosquitoes or nighttime bugs? This tent is well thought out. Super lightweight. And, thoroughly durable for a 3-season range tent. The 2 of us went for a 3-person to enjoy plenty enough room without constriction WHILE STILL enjoying very lightweight!! The 2-person is WAYYYY too small for 2 folks. No way around it. Not comfortable for 2 people. But at this weight range, why settle?! Size up and enjoy natural 2-person space and no real weight penalty. Very simple and easy to set up and really, it is a classy black-toned accomodation- some righteous (color) decision making from the folks at Mtn HrdWr! We live in the tropics. Think mosquitoes. Then pack in this tent and forget about those vampiric nuisances. There are mesh pockets.... enough guyline stake out points for beach winds... well sealed fabrics to block the rains. I'm not paid by these guys, I bought this tent! And this thing is the $hi#!! It is a superb lightweight tent.... and fhat said, CARE for it like a prime tool of protection. It is not armor! Most gear can rip, tear. But be practicle and real with your management of this thing and it IS well built for the years ahead! Tents are not timber, stucco and sheet roofing! They're lightweight adventure homes. And this one is a sharp, perfectly purpose built, lightweight one.
Pros:
Sooo lightweight for thorough rain protection.
Cons:
Be respectful of the lightweight zippers and fabric.
