Fishing fanatic's Review of Mountain Hardwear Ratio Down Jacket - Mens
I went through quite a few down jackets to get to this one. I started with a Montane featherlight hooded jacket which had a reverse zipper and was to snug for my taste. I then tried a Marmot Tullis hoody which was nice but the colors were too loud and it didn’t have a hem drawcord. I the tried the Cotopaxi Fuego LT which fit good but sounded like I was wearing a trash bag so it went back. As a last ditch effort to fund a suitable replacement for my old jacket I bought both this one and a Rab microlight. The Rab fit well but also had a reverse left hand zip which I am not a fan of however the Mountain Hardware jacket had a nice loft too it, felt the warmest out of all of the aforementioned, had the nicer feeling zipper and last but not least didn’t have the super slim athletic cut like most of these. I’m 5’9” 180lb and fly fish a lot so mobility and warmth is of utmost importance and this jacket hit those marks with flying colors. Thanks Mountain Hardware and Campsaver!
