Ravi M.'s Review of Mountain Hardwear Superconductor Insulated Jacket - Men's

First the MH Superconductor is a sharp jacket. The Phoenix blue pops and the chockstone (whatever that is) exterior is very nice. The modestly insulated and quilted interior also makes it very suitable for cooler breezy days. The execution of the jacket leaves a little to be desired. As a few others have noted the cut of the jacket is odd. The sleeves tend on the long side and the lower part of the jacket is cut full. Usually, from TNF, Columbia and others, a medium works well on me however in this jacket the sleeves were way too long and the lower body too baggy even with layering. I exchanged for small size in which the sleeve length is appropriate but the rest is fairly snug. I decided to keep the exchange but layering will not be possible, making the jacket a little less useful than it could otherwise be when the weather turns cold. MH should take another look at its sizing. Overall, though,it’s a nice jacket for cooler days and nights. The Campsaver price was great, but the return/exchange service is frustratingly slow. They seem to have a great return policy on paper. However, they use extremely slow shipping, and are slow processing returns. As a result it took over a month to send back and receive a newly sized jacket. I understand one takes one’s chances when one buys online, but beware if you have to exchange anything you buy from them. If you buy late in the season and you have any issues by the time you get the right garment it may be of little use until next season.
