You can make it yourself but MSR has prepared for you. I put it inside my Hubba Hubba. After a day of hiking, if your clothes and socks are not dry enough, this cord is a good choice for you. Just connect it with the hook in your inner tent and you can start hanging your wet stuff, also your lantern. The only bad thing is that the hooks it come with is a bit difficult to clip clothes.
