Art C's Review of MSR Hubba Hubba Backpacking Tent - 2 Person
I have a 4 season MSR that's around 17 years old and is of the highest quality and still in service. I can't say enough good things about that tent, the Hubba Hubba NX not so much. The Hubba Hubba seams were not factory sealed and instead they included a bottle of seam sealer.I would expect that from a cheap brand tent but not MSR. The poles provide no confidence of durability as they appear to be plastic looking. The pole tips that insert into the gromments are not metal but instead some plastic/composte. Essentially those two points were my biggest complaints I could not get past. I compared this model to the Sierra Design Meteor Lite 2. The tent was seam sealed and the poles were of much better quality NSL Aluminum and construction and nearly $100 less.
Pros:
Light weight
Cons:
Over priced
Seams not factory sealed
Poles have appearance of being cheap
Best Used for:
car camping and backyard
Would Recommend:
No
