Filling a niche for my skiing - MSR Poles DynaLock Ascent C Trekking Poles

I have been searching for poles that collapse/fold up since here in the Pacific Northwest we can hike to ski on the volcanoes and high peaks during the summer. Sometimes it’s necessary to stow my poles and switch to an ice ax or scramble with free hands. My old ski poles telescoped but were still quite long and awkward to attach to my pack. I’m a shorter woman (5’3”) and so many of the folding style poles were too long for me when deployed- the minimum length just wasn’t right. I am very happy with these poles so far-100-120 length. The locking mechanism and ability to customize the length seem to work well and the Velcro strap built in to help you keep the poles together when folded is a nice touch. Putting the snow baskets on took more effort than I anticipated: lots of twisting before I could push the basket down to be flush with the flange. Can’t wait to test these poles out in the wild!
