The main beam for the flashlight is excellent and extremely bright. However the alternate lighting from the side is really too bright to use as a lantern unless you point it towards a wall. In a tent it just blinds you. I used it in a cabin just pointing the main beam towards the ceiling resting on its expanded base and it lit up the whole room.

This review was written in the old system and had content requirements that are different than reviews written today.
