fargozombie's Review of NEMO Equipment Symphony Sleeping Bag Synthetic

I have not slept in the Nemo Symphony Luxury Duo as of submitting this review…

Background; I recently purchased an 'off-road' (So-Cal) teardrop style camper, build is almost complete and I should be taking delivery within 2-weeks...

The new camper will have a queen size (4"x59"x78") mattress. I have been researching sleep-system options since I purchased the camper. The idea of individual sheets/blankets/quilts did not appeal to me and did not fit the rugged lifestyle and intended use for the 'off-road' camper, IMO. I found some other sleep-systems offering a sleeping-bag concept (i.e. RV ‘Superbag’, ‘Zipit’, etc.) but these did not appeal to me either.

Then I started to look at 2-person sleeping bags and discovered the Nemo Symphony Luxury Duo which had the desired look and functionality I was seeking. Price was (reasonably) comparable to other sleep system solutions.

I selected the Symphony Luxury Duo because it attaches to the mattress, as the integrated pad sleeve accepts two 80"x30" sleeping pads (or in my case fit the queen size mattress). This is the specification for the ‘Luxury’ version of the Nemo Symphony Duo… The other sleep systems would only lay on top of the mattress which did not appeal to me.

The Symphony Luxury Duo has many other features which you can read about but most importantly; includes an integrated sheet and quilt, both can be unzipped / unbuttoned depending on the ambient temperature. My camper will not have any heat or air conditioning, only a vent fan and windows in the (2) side doors. Also, I will be able to pull the entire mattress and sleeping-bag out of the camper and place it on a ground-mat for those warm nights to sleep under the stars...

I intend on using a silk sleeping-bag liner as well, primarily to manage cleanliness of the Nemo Symphony Luxury Duo. I also have a nice Pendleton Woolen Mills Yakima blanket that I will keep in the camper for additional comfort if needed…

Build quality and functionality is great, I will let you know how everything works for this application…
