JB's Review of Optimus Polaris Optifuel Stoves

The Optimus Polaris Optifuel is a great compact, sturdy, all metal stove! Runs both white-gas and compressed propane/butane and works exceptionally well. I especially like the integrated jet-cleaning needle tool and wide, fold out pot supports/base footing. One of a few stoves that can burn anything from jet-fuel, white gas, unleaded gas, diesel, kerosene to propane (no alcohol based fuels), and can be used in cold conditions, It can't be beat.
Pros:
  • Fantastic low simmer setting/very efficient on fuel consumption
Cons:
  • a little loud - get the QuietStove Silent MUTER Damper 600 Cap
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking, motorcycle camping, camping
