Matt Park's Review of Ortovox 3L Ortler Jacket - Men's
This has become my go-to foul weather jacket. Its like and packable enough that I take it everywhere and I have never been wet wearing it. I like that it has pit-zips so I can regulate temperature on the go, and the hood works great over a helmet.
I really like the harness/pack compatibility, it has one large chest pocket and no hand pockets. I am occasionally miffed I can put my hands in my pockets, usually just when I am standing around wearing the jacket casually. But I love that there are not zippers pressing into my hips when I have a harness or a pack on (which is often).
I primarily use this thing for skiing, both resort and backcountry but it has a great fit and the stretchy material make it awesome for ice climbing when its drippy.
I usually wear a large in Ortovox jackets but the XL Ortler fits me perfectly
I am a full time, year-round mountain guide and a member of the Ortovox North American team I received this gear to test and use.
