Matt's Review of Outdoor Research Super Transcendent Down Hooded Jacket - Men's

This is a trim fitting jacket that is both light and warm. Not a full bore winter coat but much warmer than the regular Transcendent and other puffy jackets. Fit is snug but if you don't layer up it's fine. Would prefer the entire jacket be made of the 50 denier gore tex material used in the upper portion but so far the lighter 20 denier nylon seems to be holding up fine.
Pros:
  • Good hood
  • Warm and comfortable
  • nice pockets
  • Trim fit, not bulky
Cons:
  • Snug in the chest...size up
  • Lower portion material delicate
Best Used for:
  • Any cold activities outdoors
