Review of ovs nordic 270 - Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic Awning 270 Side Cover

First of all, I love the design of the awning. It covers a large area and is easy to set up. I'm currently awaiting the wall #1 component to add some wind protection without compromising the openness of the system. Issues I have with the the awning are as follows: 1. Most rave about how well build it is. I'm not seeing it. While it is a good item, there's spots on the awning where the waterproof coating did not permeate the material completely leaving, what I know, will become weak spots or leak. It took forever (3 months) to get the awning so I'm not going to return it and start the process over again. I'll use a known product (Campdry) and spray the area and keep an eye on it. 2. This will not mount on any rack. I tried to use the brackets to mount it on my van's factory Pro-Rac but as the rack is not level, the awning won't allow it to be done. Some have recommended using wedges and for some that may work but I chose to buy a ladder rack (weight capacity 300 lbs.) and mount the awning on that. It worked perfectly as the sides are square to the ground allowing me to bolt it directly. This will also allow me to use a Thule Box and carry my kayak without exceeding the rated weight. 3. The CampSaver website is not very good. When you check the order status it says "Being Processed" while nearby it says "Shipped". So.....is it on the way or not? It seems that there is a supply issue ( yeah, Covid....I'm sure) and they don't apparently don't stockpile for orders. Either way, just let us know when it's going to be shipped and when it has shipped. When I send almost $1,000 for equipment, I expect accuracy.
