Perhaps it's because I'm Canadian, but when I think expedition weight I think WARM! I found these to be a good quality and comfortable, but much thinner than expected. I would call them light to medium warmth at most compared to others in my collection. I actually wore two pair at once this last hunting season.
However I give them 4 stars because they are basically as described, I just thought the warmest item in the manufacturers line would be . . . well warmer.
