Seems to do the job very well, a well-known tried-and-true product. - Patagonia Das Parka - Mens

Got this because I wanted a warm synthetic parka for winter backpacking and other activities, mostly for the times when not moving much and the chill comes. Just after purchasing wore it in the Adirondacks for a winter hike up Giant Mt. and overnight camping at about 0 degrees. Used it as intended, in camp as soon as we stopped, and it was warm with a long underwear top and thinnish fleece underneath. (In similar weather in the future, to be truly toasty when stopped I will add another insulating layer like a thicker fleece, wool sweater, or heavy expedition weight underwear top.) It compacts well into its included stuff sack. Am very happy with it.
