I haven't had a chance to wear this skiing yet - which was the primary reason for the purchase so this review will just cover daily wear around town.
COLOR: I bought the green one - it's really bright but not too bright. I was pretty nervous about the color but I'm pretty happy with it now that I have it. It's not quite as bold as a highlighter.
WEIGHT: Holy crap this thing is light. Unbelievably light for such a big coat. It's not bulky but it is pretty long and it hardly seems to weigh anything when I'm wearing it. It's so light I'm a little nervous about the durability but that is probably just a mental thing because the outer shell material actually feels pretty solid.
SIZE: I ordered a large. I'm 6'0" 180 lbs and the coat covers my but. The powder skirt has a nice tacky edge that keeps in place against jeans. I imagine it will work very well on the slopes. The sleeves are long - longer than my arms - but the velcro at the wrists make it a snap to get a good fit.
FIT: I know this sort of goes in the prior category but I wanted to call this out. I have never owned a jacket that felt so good to move around in. There is no restriction to movement at all. It's fantastic in this category.
FEEL: The shell feels solid - and it is clearly waterproof. The first night I wore it the snow was falling and melting as it hit me. It all just beaded up and rolled off. The main hand pockets are super soft on the inside and I love walking around with my hands in them. The inner lining is also really soft and comfy. It really is a pleasure to put this coat on. I forget to take it off when I get home sometimes.
WARMTH - I've worn it in temps from the low 20s to 30's so far and it is pretty good at keeping me warm. I've typically work a tee-shirt and long sleeve shirt under it but even with just a short sleeve tee I've been mostly comfortable while walking my dogs at night. It will probably be plenty warm while I'm active on the slopes and, hopefully, it will keep me warm on the chair going back up. I feel pretty confident this jacket will do the trick. I have never been able to say that about a coat I've owned before. I'm usually always cold.
PRICE - Well, obviously, it's expensive - really expensive. Probably why this is only the third review of the coat. I'm still uncomfortable with having spent so much on a coat. However, it is also the most comfortable and warmest coat I've ever owned. So, perhaps, you do get what you pay for in this case. If I remember I'll come back and update the review after I've skied in it.
OTHER: There are a ton of pockets on the coat. Two on the chest, one on the left forearm, two normal hand pockets plus two inside pockets (maybe more). The hood is huge and will definitely go over a helmet. The armpit vents are massive when unzipped and provide a wide open portal into the inner part of the coat; there is no mesh guard here so if you have the vents open and you're in powder you will fill your jacket with snow.
I haven't quite figured out the cinching system on the jacket yet. The hood cords seem a little strange and finnicky. I also worry about the coat getting dirty considering it is a pretty bright pristine green and I'm not sure how to wash it (I should look for that tag). I also worry I might rip the shell but, so far, it has seemed unmarred and sturdy.
If you can stomach the price tag then I would definitely recommend the coat.
