I buy both Darn Tough and Point 6 "smart" wool socks for my trekking and mountaineering. Darn Tough is better: denser weave, lifetime warranty and Made in Vermont. Point 6 is partly Made in the US and partly China. Also, no lifetime warranty. Finally, Point 6 is airier and therefore does not retain warmth as well. However, the one positive I can say about Point6 socks is they are cushier and a tad more comfortable. On light hiking days I'll wear them, but I prefer Darn Tough to any kind of difficult condition (uneven trails, extreme weather, etc.)
