Perfect high alpine scrambling shoe - Scarpa Crux Approach Shoes - Men's

The pros: good looking shoe, no pinch points, extremely warm, rugged, excellent grip on rocks, you can basically climb in these. The cons: too warm if you're not in high alpine cooler conditions (your feet will sweat like crazy) and the front half has basically no cushioning so switch out the insoles and/or wear excellent cushioning socks. A little better cushioning for the ball of your foot and some ventilation holes and this would be a perfect 5!
