Nickname J's Review of Scarpa Iguana Approach Shoe - Men's
I had no idea what the term "approach shoes" meant. Approach is a climbing term/jargon used to describe low level climbing before one gets to the serious stuff - mountain climbing. These shoes looked comfortable and I liked the appearance of the shoe. They are light weight, absent from the bulky padding around the collar of the shoe opening and the polyester mesh construction of the shoe adds to their breathability - keep your feet from sweating so much. Lacing runs completely down to the toes which prevents blistering while securing the feet firmly within the shoe. The sole is firm yet comfortable. I have a high instep and these shoes have plenty of depth to lace my shoe firmly without hurting tops of my feet. The first day I received them, I wore them all day long. Scarpa Iguana is an Italian family owned and operated manufacturer that dates back to 1938 as shoe makers. The sizes are European, so make sure you know what size you need to order. Check for a comparison chart that provides both USA and European sizes. I purchased these with a significantly advertised discounted price from CampSaver. I'm not a climber, but I will definitely be purchasing another pair of these shoes and I'll be checking out their other athletic apparel you are not certain, call CampSaver and one of the professional associates with assist you with your selection and purchase. "Scarpa Iguana" - get a pair and feel the difference for yourself.
