Deborah LeBlanc's Review of Sea to Summit Flame FmIV Sleeping Bag - Women's
This is the first backpacking sleeping bag I have ever purchased I put a lot of time and researched for quite a few months. Full disclosure I have not used this on a backpacking trip these are my first impressions from sleeping in it on my living room floor. At a glance the size and loft are substantial it comes in a little suitcase mesh type bag I wish it was a bigger mesh sack so I could actually store it in there, it seems to restrictive to store it in there long term. So I guess I’ll have to buy a mesh sack like my EMS bag had. I didn’t purchase that bag it was gifted to me. The bag comes with a compression sack and it does compress to a nice small size and is very lightweight. The green material of the main bag is kind of translucent almost see through it doesn’t look very substantial but I won’t find out until my next backpacking trip. I got in and felt very cozy the hood is a nice size and the draft collar works nicely. I’ve heard bad reviews of the zipper getting caught and people having difficulty getting in and out the zipper doesn’t travel all the way down so it can’t be unzipped and made flat. That doesn’t bother me and I had no difficulty with the zip so far. Out of a 10 I will give it a 7.5 for now only because the material does bother me I wish it didn’t look so flimsy.
Pros:
lightweigh, quality design and workmanship
Compresses well
loft is good
draft collar and hood comfy
Cons:
Weird see through material
