pete's Review of -SHED, Mountain Equipment Rupal Jacket, Mens Alpine Shells
Campsaver shipping was super fast..
This is my first Mountain Equipment product purchase.
My use is around town, a few alpine hikes, ocean fishing, creek fishing.
Was looking for a good waterproof shell for under my fishing vest, this jacket is alot nicer than i expected, now i'm not sure if i'm willing to "ruin" it with fish smell ..
Jacket seems well put together, really liking the regular 3 Layer Gore Tex, its much thicker than Gore Tex Pro which is what i was hoping for, its definitely a little more crunchy/card board ish vs Gore Tex Pro which is a much lighter material.
I'm 5'11" 195 lbs, Large fits me great with a base layer & Hoody underneath.
Sleeve's are nice & long, cuffs leave plenty of room for gloves, love the large hood.
I like the Alpine fit, no baggy areas yet i can move arms around, reach up, twist side to side & it doesn't feel tight or restricted anywhere.
Also purchased a Janak at the same time but i'm reaching for this one first so far.
Only time will tell how this jacket really performs but i'm happy i pulled the trigger on this Rupal.
