This top was excellent for early summer backpacking and canoeing (US/Canadian border June 2016). It's thin like a t-shirt with the benefits of merino. Quick drying. Comfortable in the warm sun and a nice layer for mild evenings at camp. This top was a bit smaller than the same size of a similar top from the Smartwool brand (Sherpa was a bit shorter lenghtwise and more snug all around), but I'd still say this Sherpa top is 'true to size' because the medium fits and I'm usually a medium. The one that I got does not have a red stripe along the shoulder though, like the one in the picture; mine is all black and I prefer it over the red-stripe one.
