Warmer but not as roomy or comfortable as 35 degree model. - Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed 20 Sleeping Bag 700 Dridown

Mike's Review of Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed 20 Sleeping Bag 700 Dridown
I have had the 35 degree model for over a year and love the comfort and warmth down to freezing. I wanted one a little warmer for late fall hiking in the mountains. Sierra Designs now has a 700 fill weight good for 16 degrees. BUT in additon to adding fill, they cut it narrower making it much less bedlike so not as easy to move around in. I looked at dimensions before buying and they are listed the same as 35 degree model..but they are not. The 700 fill is narrower at shoulders, hips and feet making it less comfortable to sleep in. Due to this, the Nemo Disco 15 is a better choice, with a warmer footbox and comfy stretch features, and is lighter/more compressible as well.
Pros:
Light, decently compressible, comfortable, warmer than previous model
Cons:
Narrower cut, bot as roomy to move around i n. Listed dimensions not accurate
Best Used for:
Backpacking 25 - 35 degrees
Would Recommend:
Yes
