At first the pack seems small. Seems too small compared to a 40L pack. Untrue. Used two compression bags for my 0F down sleeping bag~ 1000 grams of insulation. Small stove and small cookware fit in the pack. Hip is designed to be un noticed when not in use; zippers to put the fasteners away. Straps feel comfortable in my hands.
