CAMERON E.'s Review of Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Classic Sleeping Pad

I was on the fence to purchase this product because of its bulk, however, the sleep factor and the ability to sit somewhere without getting gravel imbedded in my ass far outweigh the ridgerest's size. it is so much better than sleeping on the cold ground or on cedar branches or leaves which is usually how I cushion my nights rest. I am using it in conjunction with the NeoAir VW (?) which is also really comfy but I think I will primarily use the ridgerest from now on though. I toss and turn quite a bit but the pad keeps me comfortable as a side sleeper. I tend to think I am fussy sleeper but this pad helps so much and it's practically indestructible. got it cheap on sale which is why I didn't get the zlite but might in the future or when this one breaks down in 20 years. after I unboxed it, I laid on it and I could actually feel the ridges circulate heat. maybe it's just me but I notice it regardless. if you can spare the size/weight and are looking for budget backpacking I firmly suggest this or any other closed cell pad by thermarest. I only have two of their products but so far they are both really well constructed and fit their purpose with excellence.
