FireproofMonkey's Review of Timbuk2 Phoenix Cycling Backpack
So I got this pack with out actually getting to see it in person. It's a decent pack - but there are some things that would be really nice..
The top flap should be longer /wider to cover more of the pack in case of rain.
The small front pocket should have: a waterproof zipper, be covered by a flap, or be higher and covered by a larger main flap (same with the one behind/below it).
The full side zipper and the laptop pocket should be a waterproof zipper or have a really good flap covering them.
A 2nd water bottle pocket or zipper pocket would halve been nice.
For a pack of this size, a waist strap would be helpful.
Lastly - for the size this pack can get to, it's odd just how small the main opening feels.
I do like the pack, for the most part - I will be using this for commuting by bike, and in the past I have been caught in the rain more than a few times when rain wasn't in forecast. So most of my complaints are related to that. I have used the pack much yet - just a short ride around the block filled with what I usually carry with me.
I will update after a couple weeks of uses.
