Horrible uppers! - Topo Athletic MTN Racer 3 Road Running Shoe - Men's

Ultra Racer and have been racing in MTN racer V1 and V2 for 3 years ( along with another brand ). Love the V2 so decided to try the V3 as they added 3mm to the midsole - thought it would be good for the long stuff. Used initially on a 6 mile initial run and felt good but noticeably wider toe box than V1 or V2 but felt ok. 3mm added to the midsole is a bit too much and feels too squishy. 1mm would have been perfect.

Then I ran them in a 31K and the uppers totally stretched out - like by 2 sizes! Dry night in Arizona and I'm not a foot sweater. I had to re tie the laces every few miles after the first hour as the upper kept stretching out. Cinched the laces so tight the lace holes almost touched. After about 2.5 hours they were totally gone and by the end these are not wearable.

The size was correct ( same as I always get ) it is just the uppers that are a total mess on this version. - Back to V2.
