Where is the cushion? - Topo Athletic Phantom Road Running Shoes - Men's

I just bought a pair of the Topo Phantom running shoe. Good design except the description makes it sound like the shoe is plush with a lot of cushioning. That may be for the ankle area and tongue, but the foot bed has absolutely no cushioning in the insert nor in the bottom and is like standing bare footed on a cement floor. You can certainly feel the rigid rocker plate and it does proport forward motion, but there is no cushion underneath the foot. The uppers are great with no complaints, but I was not expecting to get a $100 pair of running shoes that have zero cushioning in the foot bed. Running shoes have to be somewhat comfortable to walk in, let alone run in. These shoes may be great for some runners, but not if you are looking for a plush cushioned ride.
Pros:
Uppers
Cons:
Foot bet, sole and insert
Best Used for:
Someone who isn't looking for a cushioned ride
Would Recommend:
Yes
