Right idea, wrong execution? - Treksta Evolution GTX Hiking Shoe - Men's

I really like the idea of using 1,000s of foot imprints to make a footbed, but why is the arch support rock hard? All around the arch it's comfortable, but if your arches aren't high enough your feet grind on that ridge all day. If only they'd made it out of the same matrial throughout.
