i chose three piece black diamond poles instead. the twisting mechanism did not seem the best for wear and tear to put them together and apart. i was going to use them for bc skiing but believe theyd be better for snowshoeing and casual use. they also did not fit in my backpack as well as the black diamond but i love campsaver they got great customer service
