Quality boots from a quality brand - Vasque Eriksson GTX Backpacking Boot - Mens

Owned a pair of Vasques several years ago and finally needed a new pair for a trip to Isle Royale. These boots had strong reviews on several sites and I had a good experience with the company in the past.

I have been wearing the boots around town and doing some light hikes for the past two weeks. So far, the boots have performed well. My feet stayed completely dry while spending several days working on Lake Superior and the Vibram soles provide dependable traction when dry and wet. I ordered these boots in a 9.5, which is what I typically wear, and they fit a bit larger than I would prefer but they are filled up nicely when wearing thick socks. The quality of these boots was obvious from the time I first opened them and they are well worth the price.

My only complaint so far is that the soles are slightly stiff and my feet feel a bit sore after walking too long on paved surfaces. Before heading to the island, I will definitely be purchasing a pair of inserts.
