Theoretically great, but way narrower than other shoes from vivo barefoot - Vivobarefoot Primus Trail FG Trailrunning Shoes - Women's

I have had two pairs of Vivo Barefoot shoes and I love them. I needed some new running shoes with a bit more support, and was excited to find these. However, while the sole is the same footprint as my current shoes, these are significantly more restrictive in the upper part. I can barely get them on and have to loosen the laces as far as they allow. And then they still pinch my feet and create a crease down the middle of of the ball of my foot. I do have wide feet, but that is why I love barefoot-style shoes. It is really unfortunate that these are so much tighter and narrower than other shoes they make. There is no way they allow for natural toe splay. They are unwearable, and I fear that even sizing up would just make them longer and not more spacious in the toe box. Have to return.
