Use the SteriPEN FitsAll Filter to remove particulates from water with the use of a durable 4 micron screen. It is recommended that particulates be removed prior to treating water with a SteriPEN UV purifier.

This little gem is perfect for its size and I really like how flexible it is. Easy to cram in a pack. My only complaint is that the extension (designed to fit the funnel in smaller bottles) is a bit finicky to get on. Works better if you wet it first.
If the source of water has sediments or is cloudy you can easily filter the water so that the steripen can be applied. The filter nicely fits into the neck of differently sized containers.
It is however difficult to snap on the extension funnel if you need to filter the water into a bottle with a narrow opening.
